Full-time Over the Road Driver

Compensation & Benefit Package

Minimum Productivity Requirements

  • Maintain a minimum of 10,000 miles/ month
    • If in any calendar quarter you fall below the 10,000/ month average your pay will be docked $.02/mile for the next quarter
    • If you fail the 10,000 miles/ month average two consecutive calendar quarters you will be considered a part-time driver and not be considered eligible for full-time driver status for two consecutive calendar quarters or could be reviewed at annual review

Base Pay Scale

  • 0 – 9yrs $.36
  • 10 – 19yrs $.38
  • 20+ yrs $.40
    • $.10 of base pay is per diem (example $.38 base pay = $.28 taxable and $.10 non-taxable)

Master Driver Program

  • Must be a full-time OTR Driver
  • Maintain a minimum of 11,000 miles/ month annually (will be credited 2500 miles for each paid vacation week taken, toward minimum mile requirement)
  • Maintain a minimum of 7.0 MPG/ month annually
  • Receive no Major Company Violation
  • Receive no Major Accidents (anything at fault over $500)
  • Calculated yearly from October to September
  • Renewed each November
  • Receive a Major Company Violation or have a Major accident within the year you will be automatically removed from the program at that time
  • Perks
    • Extra $.01/ mile on base pay

    • Benefit credit of $100/ month to be used towards your benefits or H.S.A.

Mileage Incentive

  • Must be a full-time OTR Driver
  • Maintain a minimum of 7.0 MPG on a rolling quarterly average
  • Completed a full calendar quarter of driving
  • Credit of 2500 miles for a paid vacation week will be used to determine your payout scale. No incentive pay will be received on these credited miles
  • Paid out on the first check of the month (except months with three payrolls, then paid out on second check of the month) on previous months miles
  • Payout Scale
    • 11,000 miles for the month = $.03/ mile
    • 12,000 miles for the month = $.04/ mile
    • 13,000+ miles for the month = $.05/ mile

$3000 Recruitment Bonus

  • Paid out for the recruitment of an experienced OTR full-time Driver
  • No bonus for drivers that require training
  • Paid out in three increments
    • $1000 when hired on
    • $1000 after they have been employed in good standing for six months
    • $1000 after they have been employed in good standing for one year

Detention Pay

  • Paid at a rate of $18/hr with a $150/ day cap
  • Payout will not start until two hours after your arrival or appointment time
  • Will be paid in half hour increments
  • Driver responsibilities
    • Must be approved by dispatch
    • Must do arrived, departing, unloading, and loading check calls on the satellite
    • Must have time in and out on paperwork
    • Will not be paid out if you miss an appointment, don’t have times on paperwork, don’t make check calls, and have not spoken to dispatch for approval

Breakdown Pay

  • $150 for each twenty-four hour period you are broke down
  • Hotels will be paid for if needed
  • Payout and Hotel stays will be determined by the Maintenance Supervisor

Training Pay

  • Paid mileage for runs completed during Phase 2 of the training + $400/week
  • Receive $500 in running money for motel expenses to be reimbursed as you turn in receipts and will be returned at the end of the training period

Benefits

  • Vacation
    • Paid vacation is granted at the following rate
      • Forty hours after one year
      • Eighty hours after three years
      • One Hundred Twenty hours after ten years
    • Pay amount is calculated by taking your previous twelve months pay and dividing it by 2080 to get an hourly wage
    • Must be used in forty hour increments
    • Becomes available yearly on your anniversary date
    • Must use vacation within the year it becomes available
    • Must be approved by dispatch a minimum of two weeks in advance
    • Company equipment must be parked at our shop when you are on vacation
    • All personal belongings must be removed from equipment when you are on vacation
  • Time Off
    • Must be approved by dispatch a minimum of two weeks in advance except in the event of an emergency
    • Vacation requests have priority over Time off requests
    • Company equipment must be parked at our shop when you are on time off
    • All personal belongings must be removed from equipment when you are on time off
  • 401(k)
    • Provider is Securian
    • Norsemen matches 50% on the first 5% you contribute to the plan
    • Eligible first of the quarter after employed six months

  • Starting base pay is $.36/mile
    • $.10 of base pay is per diem (example $.36 base pay = $.26 taxable and $.10 non-taxable)
  • Base pay is determined on verifiable years of experience. Norsemen will credit up to ten years. Verified ten years of experience base pay is $.38/mile
  • Advance in the base pay scale off of credited years
  • If employed with last driving job for five or more consecutive years, you may be eligible for up to forty hours of vacation time at your six month review
  • $100 running money to be reimbursed when you turn in qualifying receipts. Will be returned on final settlement if employment is terminated

$3000 Sign-on Bonus

  • Paid out to qualified new full-time OTR Driver
  • Paid out in three increments
    • $1000 when hired on

Student Driver

Qualifications

  • Recently graduated from a qualified driving school program
  • Pass a Pre-employment drug screen
  • DOT Qualified
  • Must be chosen to participate in the Norsemen Training Program

Pay

  • Phase 2 pay: $500/week taxable wages + $200/week non-taxable (up to total max of $3000) tuition reimbursement
  • Phase 3 and 4 pay: $.32/mile both loaded and empty miles + $200/week non-taxable (up to total max of $3000) tuition reimbursement
  • After completion pay: $.34/mile both loaded and empty miles after successful completion of the Norsemen Training Program
  • After one year pay: $.36/mile both loaded and empty miles and enter into the Full-time Over the Road Driver status

Mileage Incentive
